My mother would have been the lady who drove her to church on Sundays, she also took her to appointments and cleaned her house and took her meals. I remember the beautiful china and things she had in the house, it was just as it was when her parents were alive. I wish you could see the house now. I took a photo for my mother it was so very sad. To say it is in disrepair is a huge understatement. The once beautiful home of the Hatchwell's looks like it would have to be demolished. The blue gums are still there but the house looks more like a horror movie set for a Halloween movie. As Miss Hatchwell never married, the house I believe was left to a nephew (I think there was a third sister who married) and it has been left to slowly die. I lamented to my boys that a family could have breathed love and life into the beautiful house up on its vantage point with its commanding views. Instead it has been left to rot. It makes me very very sad. I can still see Miss Hatchwell sitting at her little breakfast table looking out to Lyttelton harbour eating her toast cut into tiny pieces and drinking her tea while my mother dusted and cleaned. She was a gentle soul and indeed a lady. You may also remember Miss Effie Parker? She lived on Dudley Road opposite and was very good friends with Miss Hatchwell.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836846327558252903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129029512067984862.post-58173947949568552972018-08-14T03:38:38.408-07:002018-08-14T03:38:38.408-07:00https://youtu.be/2sifclibi6khttps://youtu.be/2sifclibi6kwinsomecowboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05507483640600617292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3129029512067984862.post-70421733384551076062018-06-30T11:56:32.904-07:002018-06-30T11:56:32.904-07:00I like your use of words...
