Corporations are not a group of people, and I find it difficult to believe that you really think they are.
Instead, corporations are imaginary entities whose existence is wholly dependent on law. They require this legal infrastructure, created and provided by our government, just to be able to hire proxies to act in their name. They consist of rules, regulations, and policies only. And the people who are hired to act in their name are not free to act autonomously or even in their best interests. Corporations are, by their nature, coercive institutions.
People have every right to insist that their government restrict, alter, or even abolish corporate behavior if we don't like what they do. A corporation is not a person or a citizen. It's not even real in any meaningful sense of the word.
