Freight Train Elizabeth Cotten

This video is pre 1987 as that's the year Elizabeth Cotten died. Born in 1893, she wrote it around age 11 but didn't record until she was in her 60s.



She is playing the guitar left handed and upside down. That means she is playing a regular guitar, just rotated 180 degrees. Most left handed guitarist restring the guitar so that the low E is on top, just like a regular guitar. This is completely unconventional.
